India can face third wave of Corona, We should prepare- Principal Scientific Adviser

Need to update vaccines to deal with new strains and third wave of Corona

To seeing the surge of Corona Virus, Govt officials said India can face third wave of Corona. After the second wave of coronavirus infections, India will face third wave of Corona said Prof K Vijay Raghavan, the principal scientific advisor to the central government. There was need to update the COVID-19 vaccines to face the variant. We should prepare for new waves and COVID appropriate behavior. He also said that we should also upgrade the vaccines at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to Health Ministry of India, 12 states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh have over 1 lakh active cases. It further said that Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Bihar are among the states that have shown an increasing trend in daily cases.

No exact time on when this third phase will happen

Scientific advisor also said that there is no time limit when third wave of Corona will happen. It will depend on the circumstances of Corona variant in India. Further he said that government and public should prepare to counter attack third wave on the basis of health infrastructure and Covid vaccines. We should vaccinate all the people to occur third wave he said. The Health Ministry also said that the liberalized policy for vaccination started on May 1, under which, 1, 6.71 lakh people in the age group of 18-44 years in nine states have been administered the vaccines.
