Natasha Narwal- a Jailed Activist gets bail, after the Death of her father

JNU student Natasha Narwal has been jailed under the UAPA act, violence of CAA last year

Jailed activist Natasha Narwal got a interim bail of 3 weeks as her father was struggling from corona virus. She requested the Delhi court to give a bail because her father was in the severe condition of Covid. After the death of her father one day of Natasha got freedom as her father died on Sunday. Natssha Narwal an activist of Women’s right Pinjra Tod and a student of Jawaharlal Nehru University. She was arrested for UAPA for her alleged role in Delhi to provoking the communal violence in Delhi in February.

Narwal’s father Mahavir admitted in the hospital in Rohatak Haryana. Although her father tried to hard to prove the innocence of Natasha against the Citizenship Amendment Bill but failed. He himself imprisoned for his participation in protests during the Emergency. Pinjra Tod group also criticized the government officials and tweeted that they have lost Mahavir Narwal. He passed away 2 hours back due to Covid 19 pandemic. This is immense loss for us and the larger community as for Natasha.

Natasha father said to an interview ”it was important to go jail his daughter for human rights”

During an interview his father said that it was important to go jail to defend the human rights. He also said that jail is nothing to be fear of. What is there to be scare. It is a matter of right of individuals. There is no other way to defend human rights. Mahavir Narwal a member of the communist party of India and also associated with the Gyan- Vigyan Andolan. This campaign encourage rational thinking and scientific temperament. He was a former senior scientist of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University in Hisar district. The CPI also expressed condolence about Mahavir Narwal’s death. They said it is criminal act of Modi government that his daughter Natasha Narwal arrested under UAPA last year and could not even meet her father.
